A Proven Track Record

Over the last two decades, Chris has continuously and consistently delivered for the Democratic Party:

Chris is a 12-year, multi-race veteran, who was a top national fundraiser in the last Presidential cycle. He also raised money for the DNC as a Deputy National Finance Chair during the critical rebuilding years of 2017 and 2018.

He is a consistent advocate for increased financial transparency at the DNC, the NFC, and on the Budget & Finance Committee.

Chris has a proven history of expanding, diversifying, and supporting the Party’s pool of volunteer fundraisers and donors.

The DNC is the only Party organization Chris has ever fundraised for and he is committed to do so over the next four years. His sole focus is to ensure that Democrats have the funding to win elections every single year.

“For over a decade, I’ve made a long-term commitment to the DNC and fundraising for the Democratic Party.  This is a mission-critical role and I think I have the experience and credentials to be successful and help the DNC thrive.”

-Chris Lowe

Outside of the DNC Chris has had a nearly 35-year career in infrastructure and renewable energy finance.

Chris worked as a banker, a CFO, an investor, and a Board member and has been directly responsible for the investment of billions of dollars in critical infrastructure and clean power plants.  And he financed his first renewable energy facility over 30 years ago!

Chris holds a degree in Mathematics from the University of Cambridge and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.

The Case for Chris

In a critical rebuilding moment for the DNC, we need strong leadership at the helm of our National Finance Committee.

Chris has the specific experience of raising funds in a time of rebuilding, a track record of supporting transparency and openness on the Budget & Finance Committee, a plan to expand and diversify the fundraising base of the Party, and an enthusiasm to link the political and fundraising sides of the DNC.

The primary role of the DNC National Finance Chair is to ensure the DNC has the resources needed for Democrats to win – up and down the ballot, all across the country, year in and year out. This is how Chris will fulfill that mission:

    • Fund the Party Infrastructure: Continue to emphasize the proven value of establishing and funding Democratic Party infrastructure for the benefit of all.

    • Four-Year Cycle: Operate on a four-year cycle realizing that we don’t only need political power in Presidential election years.

    • Convert Campaign Donors to DNC Donors: Maximize the number of Harris-Walz campaign donors who continue to play a role with the Democratic National Committee.

    • Work to Establish Multi-Year Fundraising Commitments: To ensure we can always meet the base funding needs of the State Parties.

    • Participation: Expand participation in the National Finance Committee to reflect the diversity of the Party and the country.

    • Donor Diversity: Appreciate the wide range of reasons that people contribute and develop strategies to meet them where they are.

    • Fundraising Training: Set up a program to provide core fundraising training for Volunteer Fundraisers, DNC Members, State Parties, and Candidates.

    • Raiser Network: Recognize the need to maintain, mentor, and support a national raiser network, supported by regional finance staff, including maintaining a diverse roster of Deputy National Finance Chairs.

    • Continue to Improve Financial Transparency: All data is available on the FEC website - we need to do a better job of summarizing financial data for DNC Members.

    • Goal-Based Fundraising: Set and explain realistic and tangible fundraising objectives, and use success as a reason to raise additional funds.

    • Party Integration: Deepen alignment between the work of the NFC and that of the DNC and State Parties.

    • Fresh Perspective and Continuity: Continue the great work of predecessors, Korge and Munoz, and the campaign finance leadership, Gifford and Bertolina, but provide a new perspective by entering the job as an active DNC Member, donor, and fundraiser.

    • Team Approach: Work closely with the Officers, State Parties, Members, National Finance Director, and Finance Staff, to ensure fundraising success for the Democratic Party.

At this pivotal time, we need to rebuild the Party’s infrastructure that will secure victories nationwide – and that begins with electing Chris Lowe as DNC’s next National Finance Chair.
